Wherever you are right now in life, you must have come from somewhere. Not a country or place, but a situation. There are many different situations we find ourselves in, and most times they can be quite negative.
Man is indeed an ungrateful creature!
Sometimes we can be very ungrateful to God even after He delivers us from our problems. Even after God delivered the Israelites from the bondage of Egypt, they still craved and reminisced about all the fish, cucumbers, leeks and onions they had fed on back in Egypt.
Isn’t it strange how even after God delivers us from the bad situations of life, we sometimes think we could have been better if only we had stayed in them? It could be the job you got fired from, the relationship you walked away from, or that opportunity you let go of. God removes us from places we didn’t even realize were bad for us.
He prepares us for the journey into the Promised Land, yet on the way there, as we encounter trials, we turn around and cast our eyes on what we have left behind! We start complaining to God and even blaming Him for where we are now, as we crave our old sensations.
In the physical, we see the good stuff we left behind that we could have been enjoying right now. However, what we don’t realize is that in the spiritual realm, we had been surrounded by snares and traps.
Being the good God that He is, He then lets us have our way for a while. We start doing what we think is best for us until we fall flat on our faces and realize we can’t really take care of ourselves the way we had thought.
It is only once we realize that everything we had craved was simply traps laid for us by the devil do we run back to Jesus, fall on our knees, and beg for forgiveness and protection.
Whatever your Egypt is, it is not a place you want to go back to, no matter how great things looked from the outside. Trust that God is leading you to something better than where you came from, and fix your eyes on the One who has already overcome the world!
Do you want to have a personal relationship with Christ? Then you must believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins. Repent of your sins and ask Him to come into your heart. Only Christ can reconcile you to your heavenly Father. Say this prayer:
Lord Jesus, I accept that you are the Son of God and you died on the cross for my sins. I repent of all my sins and I ask for your forgiveness. Right now I make you my Lord and Savior. Come into my heart. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank you, Lord, for shedding your blood for me at the cross. Amen.
You have now become a child of God. Take the time to read your bible and find a church that teaches the word of God. Let the Holy Spirit work in you to help you become the person God created you to be. God bless you!
